First Patch


Goodness, alright!!

I never made a post upon the release of the game - I had a ton of other things going on at the time, and call me unprofessional - but I really just wanted to get this damn game out and published! So much so, I didn't playtest before release, relying entirely on my own knowledge of the mechanics, trying to maintain a flow (which I did test), and made sure it was feasibly fun!

It is, I promise. It doesn't play like any other game I know of, and that's a bit exciting. 

THAT SAID!

I did find some problems thereafter... Namely that combat can become a real slogfest. 

Sooo this patch tries to fix that while also touching on a few things that irked me while developing that I never properly addressed. 

For those who already have a copy of the old document: 

  • Excessive Heat can no longer be acquired; you just Burn. 
  • You can now spend Heat to add a flat bonus to rolls. 
  • Removing Wounds with Heat is more expensive. 
  • Demons are now more incentivized to get into the fray with some changes to their Traits and Mutations. 
  • Pressure is no longer removed if you are Wounded; you remain vulnerable till you take Action to fix it. 

In the future, I want to touch up Cockatrice, but for now... I like the game where it is now, and would like to start working on additional material for it all!

To those of you who have picked up the game, thank you... really. This was a work of feverish passion I started up after mulling over my misgivings about PF2e, and I'm pretty fuckin' happy where its gotten!
